1913 Superior Postcard
This postcard was recently given to the Superior Chamber of Commerce in order to make copies for use by museums and historians. It was written in Spanish and mailed from Superior on June 24th, 1913, addressed to Mary Guzman, apparently from her brother. Local historians are now attempting to read the faded handwriting. We'll post the final translation here when it is completed. It should offer interesting insights into Superior's history.

See if you can pick out the buildings that are still here.

You can also see horses and mules. A few people and chilldren can be seen as shadows because they were moving at the time the photograph was made. Film of that era was very slow and required a long exposure time.

> Close up

The Magma Hotel is circled. An extreme closeup reveals the "Magma Hotel" letters on the hotel's windows.

This is the faded handwriting that is being studied.
